Annual Senior Night a Success!

We had a great turnout at our annual Senior Night on Tuesday. Several seniors came with their families and enjoyed pizza, snacks, and soda.

We played a slideshow throughout the evening of all the 2011 seniors we photographed and there were games and discounts for our valued clients.

Every senior also received a poster with all of the seniors from their school we photographed. They even got to choose which image they wanted on the poster―with no yearbook restrictions!

One popular event was the photo booth. We took complimentary facebook photos for the seniors and their family.

We were delighted to host the event and celebrate the bright futures of the soon-to-be graduates. Thanks to all who came!

We had a great time at the Great Lakes Pet Expo on February 5th. We met so many wonderful pet owners and even bought a chew toy for our new puppy.

We launched our latest pet experience at the show, "A Day in a Dog's Life." This PhotoCinema experience combines professional portraits with video footage of your pet in their daily routine--at the park playing fetch, in their home, or at the beach, as well as in our studio.

Nichol and Matt (November 13, 2010)

It was a pleasure to photograph Nichol and Matt's engagement portaits at the domes and their wedding in Appleton. Nichol arrived with a huge smile on her face and a bounce in her step as she repeated "I'm getting married today!" Both the bride and groom were stunning in their attire and full of excitement the entire day. The umbrellas were ready, but thankfully the rain stopped for a few moments as Nichol and her dad entered the church. The look on Matt's face was of pure happiness. After the ceremony the party bus turned into a dance club as we traveled to Oshkosh for the reception. It was cute to watch Matt slowly smear cake in Nichol's face and her response. The entire day was so much fun, especially the final outdoor portraits (thanks for pushing through the cold).

Amanda & Nicholas (October 16, 2010)

Amanda and Nicholas could not have picked a better day for their wedding with beautiful fall colors and weather. Amanda was stunning in her dress and complimented by the varying shades of blue in her bridesmaids' dresses that Amanda's mom Deb made (great job!). Nick looked very sharp in his white tux, as I am sure he does in his daily navy attire. The ceremony was sweet and Reverend Wayne Peach had quite the sense of humor. The portraits at Grant Park showcased the beautiful colors in your attire and the park. The images of Nicholas and his guys smoking cigars and celebrating was a great end to the evening.

It was such a pleasure to photograph David and Jessica on their wedding day. Jessica was stunning in her mermaid dress and David equally as charming in his tux. Not only did Jojo look great and act very mature around all the adults, but he gave me a run for my money with his excellent photography skills. The ceremony was very personal with vows written specifically for the couple and a small guest list. The toasts were endearing, as were Jerry's tears as he spoke to the newlyweds. Not only was the Edelweiss memorable, the formal portraits taken on Old World Third Street were one-of-a-kind.

Shelby and Jason had a memorable wedding day. It began at the salon with Shelby, who had very natural, yet stunning look. I love how Brin asked you, "Mommy, how come you are a princess today"? Adorable. Jason was equally as charming in his attire. The ceremony on Kim & Mike's property was a perfect location. Although the weather was a bit chilly, inside the tent was cozy with all the love. Brin & Grant were so cute and very well behaved the entire day. The formal portraits turned out wonderfully, especially the ones taken in front of the Delafield Hotel. We especially enjoyed the last photos of the evening taken in room #315.

We had so much fun photographing Stefanie and Nicholas on their engagement session and wedding day. The wedding party was such a blast with the guys acting like McFlys (haha) and the girls keeping them in line. The images at Petrifying Springs turned out beautifully - especially the ones taken at your mom's award-winning bridge. We both especially loved your candy bar with the great assortment (including tootsie rolls). It was great to take a moment at the end of the night with Stefanie and Nicholas to capture romantic images walking down the hallway.

We had so much photographing Christ & John's engagement session, so we knew that there wedding would be memorable. Christi and John both looked stunning in their wedding attire. If either of you were nervous, you definitely hid it well behind your glowing smiles. The moment that Christi tapped John on the shoulder, John had the perfect expression of excitement and joy in anticipation of seeing Christi for the first time on their wedding day. This was our favorite moment of the day. Thankfully the weather cooled down enough for us to capture some beautiful images at the park. Practice definitely made perfect on all your great kissing images!

May 8th was a crazy day for IN-FOCUS. We started the morning off photographing figure skaters in Pleasant Prairie and ended our evening photographing Cudahy High School's prom at the Harley Davidson Museum. The day was busy, but we had a blast! We also returned to Pleasant Prairie on May 22nd to take more photographs of figure skaters. The images of both events turned out great.

IN-FOCUS Photography Day

On Monday our studio hosted our first IN-FOCUS Photography Day! Five photographers (not all from IN-FOCUS), six models of all ages and one videographer set out into Milwaukee's Third Ward for a unique photography session. The photographers spent the afternoon expanding their horizons with models and working together to capture the perfect image. This event was a great learning experience, a great way to get inspired and allowed everyone to show off their different style. The results from this event are amazing. We have so many great images that it was hard to pick just a few for our blog. Our videographer, Daniel, was along for the ride and will be posting a video on our web site soon! We plan to host another IN-FOCUS Photography Day in the future, so contact us if you are interested in modeling.

Here's what Craig had to say:

It's hard to believe how fast normal people can transform from ordinary punk rockers, ordinary young girls, and an old guy with too many different hats into "models" just by placing them directly in front of a camera with a professional behind the lens. I saw it with my own eyes and was part of it. I saw Tegan go through so many beautiful facial expressions while throwing her hair back. I saw the tattoo punk guy grind his fist into the palm of his other hand while flashing a face that could scare anyone! I watched a long hair punk guy toss his twisted braids from one direction to another just to satisfy the professional behind the camera who was urging him on. I witnessed two beautiful young ladies who were so willing to stand in the cold and wind in short skirts while attempting to "strike the pose" that would satisfy the photographer behind the lens. And to think all these "models" were doing all of this great posing in between shivering from the cold wind, jumping in and out of the car for warmth and being watched and stared at by strangers with strangers walking through the alleys.

There is no doubt in my mind that this was probably one of the best group of models ever assembled to take on such a great unscripted photo shoot. Both the photographers and the models were professionals that day. Not trying to blow my own horn, but myself included, WE WERE GREAT! By the end of the photo shoot, I was proud to have met each and every one of them and I'd love to "model" with them again any time. As different as we are, we all came together for a wonderful day of photography and modeling. Thank you my friends, all of you, including the new ones I made during this fantastic photo shoot.

The Miracle of Life

On March 25th a new life was born to Joe and Joanne when Juliet came into this world. Mary was able to capture these special moments between mom, dad, Juliet and her big sister, Joely.

Just a few weeks later another miracle occurred on April 7th. Samuel David was both to Jessica and David, Mary and Jerry's eldest son. Mary and Jerry are officially first time grandparents.Of course, Mary and Jerry were at the hospital the next day taking many, many images. Samuel David was 8 lbs. 13 oz. and 22 in. long. He is such a handsome boy.

We are looking forward to watching both of these children grow and we are happy to be a part of their lives. And of course, we will be taking plenty of photography to preserve their precious moments.

Thank you for allowing IN-FOCUS Photography to be a part of your special day. Your friends and family were so nice and you are truly blessed with loving and caring parents.

Thankfully the rain stopped before we arrived to the church and allowed us to capture beautiful portraits. Your Pastor greeted us warmly and was very helpful. The images before, during and after the ceremony were great, but the best was yet to come. The images we did outside of the Marriott are gorgeous! The two of you were glowing in the portraits and showed how truly meant for each other you are.

Your reception was entertaining and your dessert exquisite. A many thanks to your DJ for helping out. We had a blast and enjoyed spending the day with you and your family.

Mary and Jerry enjoyed a wonderful Halloween photographing Kari and Michael's wedding. The fall colors provided an excellent backdrop to the outdoor portraits in the chilly weather. A special thanks to the wedding party for being so cooperative and allowing us to create precious memories. Thanks Father Dan for your great ideas and for allowing us photograph inside the seminary. In Memory of my Dad

My father, Mauricé Pauze was a great part of my life. He passed away on October 14^th, 2009 after a long battle with cancer. As a photographer himself, he inspired me to learn and perfect my craft. I remember when I was young, my dad transformed our kitchen into a darkroom. I loved to watch him process his film. He would expose the image to light for a few second and I watched with wide-eyes as the developer processed the image like magic.

Because of my father, photography has become a large part of my life. I cannot imagine going anywhere without my camera, just like my dad. My dad had a passion for photography until the end. Last summer he still had his camera in hand at our family reunion and my son's graduation party. I am forever grateful for what my dad has inspired me to do and the countless things he has done for me.

Photography lasts a lifetime and I am thankful to have photographed my father in March of this year. This image will be with me forever and reminds me of my loving father daily. I will always have fond memories of my father and his love for photography.

My father's battle with cancer has inspired me to help others deal with loss. I have started a program at the studio that provides a complimentary family session to those families who are struggling with a terminal illness. I am so grateful to have a portrait of my father before his battle took a turn for the worse.

Mary, Jerry and Daniel had so much fun photographing and video recording Nicole & Joaquin's wedding. The drive up to Mt. Calvary was beautiful and well worth the trip. The photographs at the park with the girls were fun and turned out great. The few minutes spent at the fountain provided excellent portraits of the two of you. Maximillian's provided an excellent Reception location and great food. We look forward to driving there again for a fish fry. Daniel also said that the dancing at the Reception was some of the best that he's ever recorded.

Phantom of the Opera

Mary and Jerry had a wonderful time photographing Jennifer and Phil's wedding. It was wonderful to have 45 minutes alone with the two of you for park portraits. Every photograph taken of the two of you was perfect. It touched Jerry to see Phil tear up when he first saw Jennifer walking down the aisle. We will also be designing a sample wedding album of Phil and Jennifer's day to accompany their sample engagement album.

Mary and her assistant, Nicole had a great time working with Mallory and Brian. The entire wedding party created an enjoyable atmosphere for the day. Jerry and his assistant, Tegan had a wonderful time photographing the wedding day at Marlee's childhood home. The rain held out until the late evening and allowed for perfect weather during the ceremony and formal portraits. The evening ended with a great surprise: fireworks timed perfectly as the bride, groom and guests exited the reception tent.

Jessica and Corey had a beautiful wedding day with excellent weather for outdoor portraits. Mary, her assistant Nicole, and Daniel had a great time capturing photos and video. Thankfully their wedding was last weekend, otherwise the portraits by the river would not be possible with the flooding. I hope the couple had as much fun on their honeymoon in Hawaii as we had photographing their wedding day. We plan on creating a sample wedding album and video from Jessica and Corey's day.

Butterflies are coming!!

Two weeks ago we were in Iowa visiting family and friends. We met with a wonderful family who raises butterflies - the ones that will be coming to our studio June 15-20. We had a great time photographing their children playing in the rain with the butterflies.

Art Display at FIXX Coffee House

We recently installed an art display at FIXX Coffee House. All of the prints on display are Fine Art Gallery Wraps. They are for sale with prices ranging from $75 - $135. Each gallery wrap is printed on high quality canvas paper and wrapped around a frame. Many of the prints resemble paintings rather than photographs on the canvas.
